Over the Christmas holidays at the end of 2009, Joe Harris and renowned French climber Jeremie Thomas set off on a road trip up the eastern coast of Australia. The aim was to visit as many outstanding trees or significant forests as possible within a three week period, and to camp in trees every night. Although the second part of this agenda was on some occasions fudged a bit, every night was spent off the ground one way or another…
Standout forests were the Mottle Range in Victoria, New England National Park in NSW and Lamington National Park in Queensland, although there were plenty of other highlights. Being chased out of the Ada Tree by a severe lightning storm was certainly memorable!
