Husqvarna NZArbor national tree climbing championship results

Well, the unofficial results have been posted by Treetools, here.  With world champions Scott Forrest and Chrissy Spence out of the way, the NZ field was clear for new national champions to step up to the plate: congratulations to James Kilpatrick and Nicky Ward-Allen for winning the 2011 Husqvarna/NZArbor national tree climbing championships.  They will represent New Zealand at the 2012 ITCC in Portland.

The competition overall was a great success, as well as being lucky enough to escape the rain on both days.  The Aerial Rescue involved a ‘pickoff’ rescue of an injured climber on an SRT system, and thankfully competitors were allowed to bring the climber to the ground on their own lines: a welcome return to the real world.

Check the NZ Arb Association page for official results in the coming weeks.
